Esquimalt Men’s Shed House Rules

Directors

  1. As required by the BC Societies Act, the directors of the Esquimalt Men’s Shed Society (EMS) must manage the activities and internal affairs of the society. This management may be direct, or by others through delegation of responsibility.
  2. The directors must hold an annual general meeting (AGM) of the EMS  each year.
  3. Only members can vote at the AGM.The minutes will contain the results of all votes.

Members

  1. Membership in the EMS involves the completion of a membership application and its acceptance by the Board of Directors.
  2. Members agree to uphold the constitution and bylaws of the EMS, abide by the Code of Conduct, and follow house rules.
  3. Member conduct resulting in potential harm to safety, well-being, or shed reputation may be reviewed by the EMS Executive Committee. The committee’s  response will be proportional to the seriousness of the infraction.
  4. Aggressive behaviour, threats, violence, or repeated disruptive conduct may result in disciplinary action. This may extend to suspension or revocation of membership in the EMS.
  5. Members agree to observe workshop safety rules, upholding a duty of care.
  6. Faulty or unsafe equipment must not be used and must be reported to the Workshop Coordinator.
  7. Unsafe conditions or unsafe use of tools must be avoided and reported to the Workshop Coordinator.
