  • Roger Jennings
  • Jan Woo
  • Mark Nicoll

  • Layton Engwer
  • Gregg Eligh

-John McWilliams was absent so not available to take notes.

-Mark Nicoll picked up a ‘Thank You’ card to send to Doug. It was passed around for all to sign.

-A ’round table’ check in was done with all sharing.

-Layton has connected with 2 funeral homes to inquire about possible donations of tools from client families. He will provide a write up.

-Brief discussion about repair cafe possibilities. More volunteers are needed to be viable. Possibilities  increase with connecting with another group, or we need more volunteers. Possible location for us to hold a repair cafe would be the community center.

-No more discussion or movement on the group logo.

-Pete Kerr asked about the riding therapy stable looking for assistance. Info was missing on contact or list of needs.

John’s note; I’ll paste last week’s notes regarding the riding stable list of needs and contact info here:

Nicholas Balikci made a presentation regarding the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Ass’n. Nicholas volunteers at their ranch on the peninsula. Volunteer labour is needed there for upkeep of the facility.   A short list of building or maintenance items mentioned;

  • Replacing tack room doors
  • Rebuilding barn doors
  • Building a wheelchair ramp
  • Fence building and maintenance
  • Building shelving
  • Many other building maintenance items

Nicholas passed on the invitation to visit the ranch for a tour for those interested in this.

Thanks Nicholas for passing on this information.

-A list of tool needs was created for the workshop.

-small drill press

-bench top drill press John’s note; I suspect these two items are actually the same thing; can two machines of the same general description be justified in our shop at present?

-10″ sliding chop saw

-18″ belt sander

-hand jig saw

-bench grinder

-clamps -metal vice

-fire extinguisher

-compressor

-brad nailer /stapler

-if any one finds an item available on this list for $40 , buy it. Over $40 would need confirmation from two other shed members.

Max budget – $400.00

-Brian is still working on the website design.

-Next meeting to be at Pat’s garage/shop on July 2. Access? John’s note; I have the door code and the key for the passage door. I expect I’ll be there, though I’m volunteering at the Gorge Rd Picnic on the 1st, so I may be a bit stunned.

That’s all I’ve got.

Gregg
